What is Organizational Culture

What does culture actually have to do with performance?

This week, I’m trying something a little different.

Instead of a written article, I’m sharing a short 2-minute video on a question I get asked constantly:

What is organizational culture, and how does it actually impact business success?

A lot of leaders hear the word “culture” and think perks, engagement surveys, or values posters on the wall.

That’s not what I mean.

Organizational culture is the invisible operating system of your business.

It’s how decisions get made.

It’s what gets rewarded.

It’s what gets tolerated.

It’s how strategy turns into execution or quietly stalls.

When culture is aligned, performance compounds.

When it’s misaligned, friction multiplies.

In this short overview, I break down why culture isn’t a soft topic; it’s structural. And why treating it as a communications initiative instead of a design discipline is one of the biggest performance mistakes organizations make.

I’m experimenting more with video this year because sometimes the simplest explanations are the most powerful. If you’ve ever wondered why strategy doesn’t always translate into results, this is a good place to start.

Culture isn’t decoration.

Its design.
